What does p0016 stand for in Chevy Captiva?
P0016 refers to which camshaft position sensor is out of time with the Crankshaft. P0016 Symptoms P0016 should be considered an important trouble code to diagnose and repair. The crank and cam sensors work in tandem to produce the ideal air/fuel ratio for your engine.
Why does my Jeep Wrangler engine not run?
The crank and cam sensors work in tandem to produce the ideal air/fuel ratio for your engine. When this timing is off, the engine will typically not run (or barely run) Here are the major symptoms of P0016 in the Wrangler:

How does the crankshaft position sensor work on a Jeep Wrangler?
Crankshaft Position Sensor Crankshaft Position Sensor on the Jeeps (4.0 & 2.5) reads a set of slots that is spinning on the flywheel. These slots cause the CKPS to send a pulse to the Power Control Module (ignition computer/brain box) indicating engine speed.

Where is the pkcm located on a Jeep Wrangler?
Also the PKCM uses this pulse signal to set ignition timing and supplying the tachometer with the RPM that you see in the dash. Where is the sensor located? Sensor is located on the driver’s side of the engine, back of the block where the transmission joins the block.
What are the sensor codes for a Jeep Wrangler?
I own a 2000 Wrangler 4.0L sport, and recently got the (OBDII) P0132 & P0138 codes which are High Voltage Output in sensors 1 & 2. I had to search this forum, as well as other sites to make sure I was investing my money the right way . Anywayz here’s the breakdown: 1. Got the codes P0132 & P0138. 2.
How do you take O2 sensor out of Jeep Wrangler?
Took both sensors out, using the 7/8″ special socket and wrench. Downstream was tough, had to heat up exhaust pipe to get the sensor out. Pretty easy to get to them but limited space.
Why does my camshaft sensor have a p0016 code?
The code P0016 can be due to the camshaft sensor for bank 1 having an internal intermittent problem due to vibration or heat. These problems may or may not be able to be verified. If repeated attempts to find the failure end up in not verifying the code, then suspect a failing camshaft sensor. Need help with a P0016 code?
Where is the p0016 sensor located on a PCM?
Should the timing be off, the PCM will set a code P0016. This code stands for Crankshaft Position – Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A). Where is the P0016 sensor located?
What is the meaning of the code p0016?
Code P0016 Definition The correlation of the camshaft and crankshaft positions on bank 1 is incorrect based on the intake camshaft position sensor. What Does P0016 Mean? In order for the engine to run smoothly and efficiently, it has to know exactly where the camshaft and crankshaft is in its rotation.

What causes a crankshaft to be in p0016 position?
To sum things up, the common causes for code P0016 are as follows: 1 A faulty cam or crank sensor 2 The cam or crank circuit is open or shorted 3 The timing belt/chain is out of time 4 The cam or crank tone ring is slipped/broken 5 A problem in the VVT system 6 The PCM is faulty
What causes the p0344 code on a 2005 Jeep Wrangler?
My 2005 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 experienced both the P0344 & P0016 codes, after I replaced the camshaft position sensor. The cause of the problem was a worn out camshaft synchronizer / oil pump drive assembly. You can tell from the video how loose it is. Keep in mind this is what fires the plugs & injectors (along with the crankshaft position sensor).
