When does 4 wheel drive work on Polaris Ranger?
On my 2011 EV the 4WD works correctly. the light comes on at the switch but I do not hear anything click. the click may b when the rear wheels loose traction. i can definitely hear the difference when the front differential engages. Although, i have never liked Polaris’s so called 4wd. only engages when rear wheels loose traction.
Why is my front differential not working on my Polaris Ranger?
Also, there are other items that can cause this: A bad 4×4 switch, gear selector switch (does your dash show what gear you are in?). If all the electrical seems to check out, it may be time to drain out the fluid and look for any signs of mechanical failure such as the sprague cage.
Why is my Polaris 4WD not engaging properly?
If you can not make it work by applying voltage directly to the diff then you likely have a cage or dirt issue in the front diff. They come apart really easily and not many parts in there. If you take it apart, make sure the armature plate is flat and the magnet has good even pull on the plate when energized.
What should the voltage be on a Polaris Ranger?
Check for minimum battery voltage at Gray and Brown/White chassis wires that power the coil. A minimum of 11 Vdc should be present. 3.If electrical tests are within specification, remove gearcase (see “Gearcase Removal”) and inspect components.
Why does my Polaris Ranger 4 wheel drive not work?
This is a new 2016 that I’ve only used twice. the 4 wheel drive worked fine last weekend when I used it. Looking at the service manual for my 2010, it looks there’s really only two/three things involved in engaging the front – the drive clutch in the front diff, the control switch, and power to it (plus various connectors).
Why are the wheels not turning on my Polaris ATV?
Make sure that front diff is getting 12v when the switch is turned on. If it isn’t you have a wiring issue. I would find the plug and disconnect it Its by the diff and Apply 12v to it from the battery and see if the front wheels will lock and turn. You should have it in the air so all the wheels can spin. Fronts wont lock unless rears are spinning.

What should my ohm Max be on my Polaris Ranger?
If you get much more than 0.1v, say 2-3 volts with the AWD energized, unplug the ECU and check the resistance between the (unplugged) terminal at the AWD connector and the AWD driver pin in the ECU connector. You should have a few tenths of an ohm max.
