Why is the ignition not working on my Polaris ATV?
The ignition does not need the battery for the engine to run – the battery is for running the starter motor and other DC operated components. Since the lights work and the engine can be stopped, we can presume the key switch is operating correctly and the run/stop switch is working, but the start function is not working.
