What is the difference between Titleist CB and MB?
Compared to the MB, the Titleist 620 CB irons have had more of a makeover in order to bring them closer to the MBs and away from the AP2 replacement that is the T100 iron. This gives the longer irons a bit more forgiveness in a compact head that is longer than the 620 MB but is still a blade in looks and feel.

What does MB mean golf?
Muscle back
“Muscle back” (also spelled as one word, “muscleback”) is a term that describes the design of some golf irons played mostly by very good, including the very best, golfers.
Are CB more forgiving than MB?
The Titleist 620 CB irons offer slightly more forgiveness than the 620 MB without giving up much in terms of looks. Excellent feel and feedback.
Are Titleist AP2 712 blades?
Enter the 712 line up. Titleist has this to say about them: AP2 irons are technically advanced blades that provide increased forgiveness without sacrificing shot workability while combining traditional blade length and sole width with a more efficient multi-material weight distribution.
What’s the difference between Titleist AP2 712 and 714?
The NEW 714 AP’s both have lower spin characteristics over the 712 AP line. 714 AP1 tends to launch higher than 712 AP1 with lower spin for greater distance. 714 AP2 promotes lower ball flight with less spin to appeal to the stronger player.
Can high handicapper use blades?
It’s generally not recommended that high-handicappers use blades. They are less forgiving when it comes to off-centre strikes, meaning they will be much harder to use for beginner players who often struggle to control the low-point of their swing, and also their club-face direction and swing path.
Why do pros play blades?
Part of the allure of blades is their sleek appearance, and blades give top golfers the ability to shape shots. Blades make it easier to work the ball to the left or the right, whereas cavity-backs tend to reduce sidespin and make it harder to deliberately hit draws and fades. Blades also give the golfer feedback.
What does Titleist CB stand for?
Muscle back (also known as blades) and cavity back irons refer to the way the back of the iron is designed and shaped. Back in the day there was a huge difference between the muscle back and cavity back irons, but with the advanced technology today the difference is becoming subtle.
