Most people report normal operating temperatures to be around 195-210 but anything over 210 as being bad. The 4.0 is designed to run @210. They do get up to temp quickly and generally stay right there unless there is an issue like a bad water pump or cooling fan dying. Your jeep should maintain a temp of about 210 deg.

This weekend I will be replacing the Thermostat, thermostat sensor, radiator cap and doing a radiator flush. hopefully this will resolve the over heating issue. I have been noticing my clutch fan as been coming on more often.

Now my operating temp has dropped to about 185°. I assume this is because of the thermostat change (and possibly the other cooling system replacements).
