What should oil pressure be on a Twin Cam 88?
Once it is warmed up and under load it shows 20 psi. and it has gone to 5-10 psi and come back up again. At idle it shows 0 psi. Is this something I should be worried about or is it normal for a Twin Cam 88. If you could shed any light on this matter I would greatly appreciate it. Those oil pressure numbers are typical for your m/c.

After the gears and chain are off, remove the cam support plate and cams, and the oil pump. Now that the cam chest is empty (Fig. #5), clean it with some Chemtool spray and inspect the area. You should always replace the inner cam bearings while the engine’s apart, and new ones come with the kit (Fig. #6).

On your early models you can take a plate and pump combo from a 06 up dyna and use either Andrews or Feuling conversion cams which will allow the newer plate and eliminate the spring loaded tensioners while allowing you to also update the cam plate to the non bearing bushing style outer cam roller.
