What makes a clicking noise when the AC is turned off?
Clicking really doesn’t describe it properly since it’s loud. Best way to describe the sound is it sounds like plastic hitting plastic, almost as if you would strike the dash with a plastic dowel. I’ve also heard the noise when the car is shut off and I’ll bump against it.

The recirc door being behind the glove box and the one that will change position every time you start/stop the engine. The popping/clicking sounds are very common from the actuators or the plastic gears they are driving when doors get stuck or jammed.

Thats the blower motor/interior fan, Its located above the passenger footwell behind the glovebox, so that would be what youre hearing. Mine made that noise before but it eventually went away. It’s relatively easy to replace though if you have to, only 3 screws and remove one electrical connector.

The sound lasts for about 10 seconds and then stops. When I turn the truck off, it happens again for about 10 seconds. The problem didn’t occur often until I had the AC system recharged lately. What do you think the problem is? If I need to replace the blower motor, how can I remove the plasting cowling in front of it without cutting it out?

Need help just replaced 2 actuators behind glove box and it fix the ticking noise but there is still no air pressure coming out of the vents!?!?!
Are there any actuators behind the glove box?
There are 3 actuators, 2 behind glove box and 1 behind stereo, turn car on and while clicking see if you can feel if it is either one behind glove box. I’ve replace the air blend door actuator on the passenger side twice in my 2009 impala because of the clicking noise. Where does the clicking come from on a GM Truck?
The clicking starts when I crank the truck up and last about 15-20 seconds.I hear the same clicking when I turn the truck off and it lasts about the same time.Like I said it is coming from behind the glove box above the heater core.The heater core has not shown me signs of it being bad,no leaking,and no foggy windows.

Noise: If you’re hearing a sort of droning or squeaking repetitive sound from somewhere within your dashboard around the Center area, in the more or less general area that you are control knobs for the HVAC system are located, that’s a good sign there’s something wrong with the blend door actuator.
