What kind of transmission does Nissan X-Trail have?

I have a Nissan X-Trail automatic transmission yr 2001, the problem with it is after a short while of driving it will suddenly shift from a fast gear to gear 1 and get stuck there, the revs will go up and naturally the car will slow down.

When did the T30 Xtrail transmission come out?

Please note that I have NEVER come across a failed T30 automatic transmission and I have been across the T30 xtrail since they launched in 2001. Not a single case of total transmission failure came across me in that period, not unless the car was driven with no transmission oil in it anyway.
