Do you know who is the SARC?
Sexual assault referral centres (SARCs) offer medical, practical and emotional support. They have specially trained NHS doctors, nurses and support workers to care for you.
Can a SARC take a restricted report?
You can only make a Restricted Report by contacting a SARC, SAPR VA, or healthcare personnel. However, an official report is only taken by the SARC/SAPR VA through the completion of DD Form 2910. It is important that you only disclose the assault to these people.
Who is not authorized to take an official restricted report from the victim?
You should not discuss the assault with anyone, to include your friends, because they may be mandatory reporters. The only exceptions would be chaplains, healthcare personnel, your assigned SAPR VA or SARC, and Special Victims’ Counsel.
How do you become an army SARC?
To become a certified SARC or VA Specialist, candidates must complete the SHARP Career Course, which has been approved by the National Advocate Credentialing Program® (NACP), a program of the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA).
How long is SARC training?
The A school will be 19 weeks of training where most will be review for you, but take this time and train hard to get into shape for the USMC PFT (pullups, crunches, 3 mile run) as you will have to master that while attached to the Marine Corps units.

How long does SARC keep evidence?

What’s the difference between SARC and VA?
SARCs assign a victim advocate to each victim who reports an assault. The Victim advocate is there to provide support and advocacy to the victim they are assigned to: the type of care they provide is unique for each victim! The VA can get questions answered, and get additional resources if needed, for the victim.

The SARC is responsible for ensuring a victim support system that provides 24/7 victim response, victim advocates, information, referrals, case management, and support services for sexual assault victims who are eligible for services at AAFB.
