DLP (Digital Light Processing), a technology, developed by Texas Instruments, it uses a DMD, (Digital Micro-mirror Device), constructed of microscopic mirrors. Each mirror is a pixel on the screen. The colours are produced when the DLP light sources run through a red, green, and blue colour filter on a moving wheel.

How long does a DLP bulb last?

While the older DLP lamps last between 1,000 and 2,000 hours, the newer ones can give you 6,000 to 7,000 hours worth of TV viewing.
