What happens if the key does not turn in ignition?
Unfortunately, if the key does not turn in the ignition, the lock cylinder is bad and will need to be replaced. WHat happens is the tumbles wear out and can cause this problem. The only thing I could recommend is to do what you have already done… try different keys and turning the steering wheel.
Why is the steering wheel locked up in my Sonata?
Tried to move it today after a snow and the key won’t turn in the ignition, the steering wheel is locked up and can’t shift it. We can unlock and lock the doors. Seems like an electrical problem? Any insights or suggestions? Have you tried jiggling the wheel back and forth while you are trying to turn the key to the start position?
Why is the steering wheel lock on my Honda?
Sometimes the steering wheel lock mechanism gets a little out of alignment and won’t let you turn the key. Also there should be a way to bypass this interlock. My son’s Honda has a little place by the gear shift lever where you can stick the key in and (with your foot on the brake) shift out of park and into neutral.
