What happens if the BCU and ECU are not synced?
If the BCU and ECU are not synced will the engine start? Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three. dont think it will.
What to do if your ECU is not working?
Switch on ignition and push throttle down 5 times and it should go into purge mode. Try a few times and start with throttle pedal pushed full down. If no go, then suspect fuel pump. Either test fuel pressure is 4 bar at the FPR ot remove fuel inlet at FPR and measure rate of flow into a suitable container.
What are the symptoms of an ECU failure?
Many other symptoms may occur that can drastically lead to an ECU failure such as: 1 Erratic idle 2 Stalling 3 Poor running condition 4 Excessive fuel usage
What is the ECU in a car called?
The ECU is the engine control unit of your vehicle. It is also often referred to as the PCM (powertrain control module) or ECM (engine control module). This electronic module is a built-in computer which your vehicle depends on for managing a variety of its systems and functions.
What happens if you have a bad ECU?
That way, better fuel efficiency can be achieved. The ECU regulates virtually every important system and function in your vehicle. If you were to ever have a bad ECU, then many noticeable symptoms would present themselves. It wouldn’t take you long to realize the ECU was responsible.

Is there a problem with the D2 ECU?
Click to expand… Yes, it was specific to D2 it can communicate with all the other ECUs on the car, it has also been used in my car before. Having had a think, the most likely cause of the problem would be due to the fact that it has sat a while. If the battery voltage drops below 10v, although it will still crank, it won’t fire.
How is the ECU dependent on the drivetrain?
The engine and drivetrain are the most dependent on the ECU. Through a numerous array of electronic sensors, chips, and components within the vehicle, the ECU can transmit data feedback to the engine. The nature of this feedback will determine which function the engine will perform next.
