Hey guys, had a question and was wondering if anyone knew the solution. I have a 2014 Altima 2.5 S. When getting in last night the message “I-key system error” was on the dash display. The manual says go see a dealer but I wanted to know if I could fix the error myself.

When I looked in the manual all it said was head to a Nissan dealer. You can always try disconnecting the battery cable to see if it will go away. But of it says go to dealer them go. as much as i hate going to the dealership just go and have them fix it so its documented if more issues arise

On my 2013 Altima, I replaced the two switches on the shifter assembly ( one switch is used to tell when you are in park. (only on when in park). The other switch is on when you have it in park and not pressing the shifter button. Once you press the button, the switch is off or if off if not in park.
