What does an air conditioner relay do?
The air conditioner (A/C) relay, is a relay used to send electrical power to the air conditioning compressor, and air conditioning compressor clutch when the system is turned on. It operates just like any other relay, and is often controlled by a button labeled ‘A/C’.
Can you bypass a start relay?
You’ll need to remove the metal connecter attaching it to the relay system first and then use pliers to strip some of the wire (no more than ΒΌ inch) on either side. Using electrical tape, connect both ends of the wire back to the relay housing so it completely bypasses the missing relay and closes the circuit.
Is there a fuse or relay for the compressor clutch?
There is no fuse or relay for the compressor clutch. Power for the compressor clutch comes from one of the TIPM circuit boards, through connector C1, pin 50. However, the A/C control panel, among other things, gets power from fuse M34. That may be related. Check for power at the connector on the compressor clutch.
