Update apparently mazda said after 4 weeks of road tests and other diagnostics they just got it ao cause a intermittent fault reading that is saying there is a PCM fault. Replacing the unit may fix all said faults in the car. But cant guarantee it. It will cost $2100 to repair and mazda wont cover any costs.

Fortnatly Mazda took all the parts for themselves (1500 €/ 1650 USD) and I took the rest (6 hours + oil). Seems it solved the prob as till now (3 weeks) everything runs fine again. I have a Mazda 3 SP23 (Australia) 2005 model. About 2 months ago the power steering stopped working. We took it to a mechanic and he said the pump was gone and then told us a new one from mazda is $1900!
Why is my power steering not working properly?
Check all hoses and connections on yours and maybe have your power sterring fluid flushed properly there could be a clog somewhere and installing a working pump might not be working because a clog is still present.
