What can you say about the NAG1 8 speed?
One thing you can say about the NAG1 that you can’t say about the 8 speed is that it has proven to be reliable. Who knows what will happen to the 8 speed 10 years down the line. A lot of people don’t give credit when it’s due for the NAG1.
Is the stock NAG1 transmission good for 600 hp?
Lots of people have 600+ hp cars with a stock NAG1 and they have absolutely no problems. The gear ratios in the transmission itself are also very good and well spread out. Had an 06 300 SRT with nitrous that had 115k miles on it. The NAG1 in that car never so much as even hiccuped, and with aftermarket programming the shifts were lightning fast.
