What are the traction control lights on a 4Runner?
– Toyota 4Runner Forum – Largest 4Runner Forum VSC on/off, VSC Trac, Traction Control AND ABS Lights on. Okay so I have read through all the threads about these lights coming on. Mine used to come on with the check engine light, I fixed that with the CAT bypass from UDR.
How to fix VSC Trac in Toyota 4Runner?
Without these numbers it can’t get accurate information from the yaw rate and deceleration sensors (in the center console near the gearshift) and so it disables traction and stability control functions. The fix: Perform the “zero point calibration” procedure as described in TSB BR001-04.
Is the ABS wire still working on my 4Runner?
Just got the new sensor wire and put it on Monday and all lights still on..went a to a bday party mon night and got not even a mile and all the lights shut off including the ones from before the abs wire. If any work has been done in that region I’d test the wire just in case

This lead me to research the issue, turns out that the vehicle computer shuts off stability control if there is an issue with how the engine is performing.

When does the ABS light come on VSC Trac?
The specific behavior: On startup, the “VSC TRAC” and “VSC OFF” lights come on and stay on. The ABS light may or may not come on. On subsequent starts the lights will come on temporarily as usual (as a bulb check) and then go off.
