Why is my primer bulb stuck in?
The priming bulb on your string trimmer supplies fuel to the carburetor when the engine is cold. That’s because the collapse, which may be due to the bulb itself, can also signify a blockage in the line leading to the bulb from the fuel tank. The cause is often related to gummy varnishes left by old fuel.
Why do primer bulbs stick?
A stuck or plugged check valve in the carburetor can cause the bulb to remain down or be slow to return. A plugged fuel filter can do the same. Remove the filter and repeat the test. Check valves are non-serviceable and replacement of the valve body is the only fix.
What to do if primer bulb is not filling with gas?
The fuel should flow from the tank to the carburetor. Then from the carburetor to the primer and back to the tank. If the lines are connected correctly and the fuel will not flow this way, I recommend replacing or rebuilding the carburetor. You can order parts for the trimmer from the following link.

Why is my Briggs and Stratton primer not working?
When the primer bulb isn’t working, it may be a problem with the bulb itself, with the fuel lines that feed fuel to the bulb or both. The same goes for fuel lines. When they’ve hardened and cracked, they let in air, which makes it impossible to draw the fuel into the carburetor properly.
Where does the primer bulb go on a chainsaw?
Some chainsaws use a primer bulb to help suck gas into a cold carburetor. When the gas leaves the fuel tank it enters a plastic hose that connects the tank with the carburetor. Another fuel hose brings any unused fuel back into the tank. The primer bulb sits in the middle of this return line on most chainsaws.
