Is there a problem with the park brake on a JAG?
I have Jag xf 09 2.7 d luxury. When starting park brake fault comes up with the wording unable to use park brake. Took it to garage they have had a look and said a load of codes have come up and it will be a process of elimination which will probably become quite expensive. Any one else had this problem or know what to look for.

Daniel. Is the park brake still working despite the warning message, or is it permanently released or permanently on? There are a number of problems with the XF’s Electronic Park Release reported if you Google it.

Here’s how to check the circuit. Using the test light or multi meter, make the following voltage checks at the relay: brown wire at terminal C2 should have 12 volts at all times. If not, check for a wiring/connector fault between the relay and the right side firewall post.

How do you change the parking brake on a Jaguar?
To recalibrate it disconnect your battery and leave for 10 Min’s. then reconnect and with the ignition on apply the foot brake and whilst keeping applied switch the parking brake on. then release the foot brake turn ignition off – on and the handbrake fault message should be gone and the parking brake should release as you drive off.
