Is the bleed valve on my radiator blocked?

If so that would mean your radiator is blocked The valves are open at both ends, there is water getting in…. I have the same problem. The (only) two radiators at the top of the house are hot at the bottom & cold at the top. When I open the bleed valve, nothing happens – no air, no water.

How do you Bleed coolant from your engine?

Open the bleed valves carefully until it comes to water from them and then closes them. Do this a couple of times until it only comes coolant from them when you open them. Close your air bleeding valves. Let your engine idle again and recheck and refill the coolant level and lower the front of your car.

When to open air bleed valve in car?

Now when the car front raised, it’s time to fill your coolant as much as possible. If your engine has air bleed valves, open them at the same time as you are adding the coolant. Close them when coolant is flowing out from them.

Can you use a bleed key on a radiator?

You can use a normal bleed key or a small spanner. Be careful not to break it off though as its easy done on those myson rads. They are ones with the square holes, but the valve is too small for them to fit well. They slot right over the valve and just turn around the valve which doesn’t move.

Is there a way to bleed coolant out of a car?

There are actually two different methods of getting the air out from your cooling system. The manual method is the old style variant of bleeding the coolant system. Some cars have an air bleed valve to get the air out from the system, and some cars don’t have this air bleed valve which makes it a lot more difficult.

Where are the bleeder screws in the coolant system?

Bleeder screws reside in the air bleed housing assembly in the cooling system. They release any air bubbles and prevent any more air bubbles from forming in your coolant. Over time, bleeder screws or bleeder valves can break down and need to be replaced. A bad or failing bleeder screw may let in air and result in your engine overheating.

Where are the bleed valves on a radiator?

Only thing is I can’t find anywhere. There are no valves/pipes at the top left or right of the radiator. I’ve read that some radiators have valves inset into the back of the radiator about 4-6 inches from the left or right, but this one doesn’t have one of those either… Any advice?

What happens if no air comes out of the air bleeder valve?

Watch out: If no air comes out of the air bleeder valve valve, just water, then the radiator or baseboard served by that valve is not air-bound. If nothing comes out of the air bleeder – no air and no water, the system may not be hot enough or it may be air-bound.
