I rode a 2004 R1150R for 13,000 trouble-free miles. I did the oil and filter changes myself and thought they were easy cheezy. It is a great bike for longer rides and you can fit enough wind protection to make them just as comfortable as an RT (IMO). I had a sargent seat on mine and managed some 600 mile days with no real issues.

*Obviously ABS system issues (again there were some) *Swing arm bearing play or wear (most have some issue with this as the miles accumulate) *Clutch slave cylinder leakage (not a biggie but can kill a clutch)
