What kind of gas mileage does Nissan Altima get?
Bought this car used with 31000 miles. This car performs like our Toyotas and is larger than the Honda Accord that I previously owned. Gas mileage is about 26 miles per gallon overall but is decent for a mid sized sedan. Does recommend this car!! 10 out of 10 people found this review helpful.
I just felt the need to give special props to my 2003 Nissan Altima that is not at (372 THOUSAND MILES) yes I had to spell it out so no one would think it was a typo. She needs a new catalytic converter, but other than that she is still the greatest money maker I have every had.
All of these Altimas seem to fail around 95,000 miles, which is too early for a car to completely give out on the driver.

The timing chain (or belt) is responsible for keeping the upper valve train synced with the crankshaft. This is vital for spark timing. If the timing is off a little and the engine still runs, the timing belt may have skipped. If it has jumped too much the Altima may not even fire.

Why does my Nissan Altima not accelerate when I push the accelerator?
A customer of mine has a 2012 Nissan Altima and did the same thing, no accelerator response when pushing on the pedal. Check engine light is on. Codes returned a mass air flow sensor circuit, 3 transmission codes and a crankshaft signal failure. Another shop diagnosed it as a bad CVT transmission and the repair did not repair the problem.

Dealer replaced the door switch (switch that pushes in when the door closes), the alarm control module and finally they were able to resolve the problem after they replaced the wire harness.
