Is it safe to have a Honda Accord Hybrid in the trunk?
I was reviewing the owner’s manual for the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid and noticed on page 176 under the “Cargo Section” a warning to not carry a temporary spare in the trunk because a severe collision to the rear of the car could cause damage to the hybrid battery and cause a leak of flammable electrolytes.

Yes, I can confirm that you can use a spare tire. I took mine out of my old Acura Legend, (the dealer confirmed it would work on the Honda Accord Hybrid by comparing to the regular Accord spare) bought the plastic hub and the screw in bolt for the regular Accord 2018 spare on ebay, and it fit.
