How do you Recement a crown?
Cementation: The cementation process typically involves cleaning and disinfecting the crown and the tooth, desensitizing the tooth if necessary and isolating the tooth from contamination. Your dentist will choose and mix the appropriate cement and apply it to the crown.
Can I glue my temporary crown back on?
Dental cement is available at any drug store and is the best option for reattaching a temporary. Place the cement on the inside of the temporary and set it over the original tooth, according to the product’s instructions. If you don’t have access to dental cement, try toothpaste, dental adhesive or vaseline.

You would need to gently clean the inside of the crown with toothpaste first. Then, use dental adhesive (or even toothpaste or sugar-free gum) to temporarily “glue” the crown back into its spot on your jawline. You can buy temporary dental cement at a pharmacy or grocery store.
How long does it take for a dentist to Recement a crown?
The initial appointment usually lasts about two hours. It then generally takes two to three weeks for the lab to make the permanent crown, and removal of the temporary crown and placement of the permanent crown usually takes an additional 30 minutes.
Can a tooth crown be reused?
Whether or not your dentist can save your crowns depends on the extent of decay beneath them. Your dentist might need to cut off the crowns, which would make them impossible to reuse. If your dentist can remove the crowns intact, it may be possible to reline them and bond them back in place.
