What is BCA green Mark?
The BCA Green Mark awards recognises developers, building owners and individuals who have made outstanding achievements in environmental sustainability in the built environment.

These include:
- Efficient use of energy, water and other resources.
- Use of renewable energy, such as solar energy.
- Pollution and waste reduction measures, and the enabling of re-use and recycling.
- Good indoor environmental air quality.
- Use of materials that are non-toxic, ethical and sustainable.

What is Ecbc?
The Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) was developed by the Govt. of India for new commercial buildings and released on 27th May 2007. ECBC sets minimum energy standards for commercial buildings having a connected load of 100kW or contract demand of 120 KVA and above.

How does a building get a green mark?
BCA will review and verify the relevant reports and documentary evidences to ensure that the building project meets the intent of the criteria and certification level. A letter of award will be issued for buildings which attain the Green Mark rating. BCA will conduct site verification upon project completion and issue your Green Mark certification.
When did the Green Mark certification system start?
The Green Mark certification scheme was launched in January 2005. It is a green building rating system designed to evaluate a building’s environmental impact and performance.
