How many volts should a 12V deep cycle battery read?
12.7 volts
Voltage on a fully charged battery will read 2.12 to 2.15 volts per cell, or 12.7 volts for a 12 volt battery….Some common battery size codes used are: (ratings are approximate)
U1 | 34 to 40 Amp hours | 12 volts |
---|---|---|
8-D | 225-255 Amp hours | 12 volts |
Can a 12V battery be used as a starter?

Why does my car say it has a bad starter solenoid?
Problems that might cause your car to act like it has a bad starter solenoid can include: Bad battery – If the battery voltage is low it will be unable to provide enough power to start your engine. Blown fuse – Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best one. A blown fuse in the starter circuit could be the cause of a no-start problem.
Can a bad battery cause a car to not start?
Sometimes your car starts, sometimes it doesn’t. Intermittent operation can be a sign of a failing starter solenoid. Bad battery – If the battery voltage is low it will be unable to provide enough power to start your engine. Blown fuse – Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best one.
What are the signs of a bad starter relay?
Broken or corroded wiring – Damaged or dirty wires to the battery or to the starter solenoid (or wires that are loose) can prevent sufficient power from reaching the starter. Alternator – The alternator is designed to power all of your car’s electrical systems when the vehicle is running. It also recharges the battery.
Why does my battery only show 12.4v?
12.4v is a bit low for a good battery though – should really be 12.7v, so might be that one of the cells is on the way out which of course won’t help. I see what you mean, basically a dodgy terminal connection could still show 12v at the starter but can’t deliver the ‘ampage’ when put under load?

What is the voltage as you trigger the starter?

My battery was doing the same when I had a dodgy cell. Sure its not the starter or the wiring rather than the battery?
What does it mean when your car battery won’t start?
Fob basically acts like it is dead. Won’t work door. The battery is good, little light blinks as you push lock/unlock etc. car will go to accessory with lights doors radio wipers etc working. Just will not start. It is a possibility that the new battery isn’t fully charged but only enough to power on the lights.
