Why does my bike not Rev past 5K rpm?
Just been out again and the exact same thing is happening, runs fine and when it gets to 5k rpm in an gear it splutters and theres like no more engine noise just like a bang bang bang, pop pop pop kinda thing. Hard to explain really although i tried to power out of it as if it might be a blockage but it was having non of it.

Why does my car not Rev at 3000 rpm?

Change the fuel bulb/line before spending any big money. Had the same problem with a DT140 that sat idle for long periods $850 later I found out it was the fuel bulb breaking down on the inside and choking off the check valve under high flow demand.

Replaced the rocker-cover gasket today in hope of curing a small leak. This involved taking off just the tank and the rocker cover, so job done and i re-assembled it, topped up the oil level and started the bike back up, no problems.
Why is my engine sputtering at 2800 rpm?
Smooth operation would more suggest a limited flow, rather than a blockage, which would either cut off the fuel entirely at a given point or make it very erratic, hence the sputtering. Limited flow could be a kinked fuel line or perhaps a fuel pump issue.
