How many pools does UCSD?
Located on the eastern end of campus between Eleanor Roosevelt College and Warren College, the Canyonview Aquatic Center features two outdoor, Olympic-sized pools, each of which can be divided into eight lanes of 50 meters in length, or 19 lanes of 25 yards in length.
Does UCSD have an indoor pool?
The Natatorium, located at the Main Gym Complex, is an indoor pool facility of just over 3,000 square feet. Its glass walls and skylights provide bright lighting – and the view and feel of being “outdoors.”
Is the UCSD track open to the public?
An educational breeding ground for tomorrow’s scientists and engineers, UCSD is also an athletic playground for local residents and out-of-town visitors. Professional triathletes and Olympic track and fielders train on this 1/4 -mile oval. Circular running is free, but you may be trumped by the UCSD Track Team.
Is Rimac free for students?
Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to use all UC San Diego sports facilities including RIMAC, the Main Gym, and the Canyonview Aquatic Complex. Find sports facility locations and hours. Children ages 9 and under may enter free with an adult card-holder.
When is the Rec Center at UCSD open?

What kind of dives can I do at UCSD?
Learn front dives, front flips, back dives, and back flips. If you sign up with a friend, you can work on synchronized dives together, too. This class is specifically designed for adults who have a fear of the water. This level will teach participants to feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely.
How much does it cost to rent scuba gear at UCSD?
Additional Costs: Rental of scuba gear, book kits, and certification ($165) from dive store. Students must provide own personal gear consisting of mask, snorkel, fins, booties and gloves. The personal gear can be rented ($105 per course) or purchased (approximately $250-$350 depending on your personal selection) at the orientation.
How many yards do you have to swim for a PADI certification?
Participants must be able to swim 40 yards each of the front and back crawl. Basic PADI certification course trains students in safe diving practices. In addition to orientation, the class includes knowledge development, pool sessions and ocean dives. No more than eight students per instructor in water sessions.
