How long has the Mazda BT50 been on the road?

We have been permanently on the road with our 2010 Mazda BT50, towing a 21-foot caravan, that is under 3-tonne load limit, and we are experiencing clutch shudder. We have already had one clutch replaced at approx 20,000 km, and we are now up to 33,000 km and have the clutch shudder back.

Why does my Mazda BT-50 shudder when towing?

It is a relatively common complaint with the BT-50 when towing and we get quite a lot of complaints from Navara owners as well. The answer seems to be that the clutches fitted at the factory are marginal for heavy-duty use, and the answer from mechanics we’ve spoken to is to fit heavy-duty aftermarket clutches.

Why is my Mazda BT50 jumping out of Fifth Gear?

Jumping out of fifth gear is a common problem on early BT50s, but a fix was supposed to have been introduced in late 2007. I agree that Mazda should bear at least some of the cost of the repairs so take it to a Mazda dealer and submit a claim.

Why does my Mazda BT 50 not select drive?

If this accumulator is bleeding off pressure when the car sits, it will need time to refill (again, from the pump) before the unit will be able to select Drive. The other possibility is that the pump itself is slacking off and taking too long to build up pressure within the gearbox.
