About 4 hours of fun swapping out the pump, changing the pulley replacing the line, bleeding the system. Wow – a very noticeable improvement in the power-steering feel, more responsive and lighter to turn the wheel. I can’t believe how much the brakes improved as well – the pedal came up higher, and is more responsive to light pedal inputs.
How many times have I bled my soft brakes?
Get the Tech2 out, perform the ABS bleed about 4 times – no difference. I quiz a mechanic I know about the problem and he starts to laugh. ‘You bled the brakes a buncha times, right?’ – Yes! ‘Do you remember when you were bleeding the rear brakes, where was the bleeder screw? Was it on the top of the caliper, or on the bottom?’
