How long does it take for a truck to start and die?
Battery was fine and the engine would turn over, but not start. Every now and then, it would crank and die within a couple of seconds. Looked around online for a while and called my mechanic to ask him.

Well, after doing a lot of thinking i finally figured out my OUT OF THE BLUE HARD STARTING. It was my Fuel Pressure Regulator. At first i thought it was my ignition coil because the hard starting was intermittent and i ran a test on it and the Primary Resistance was way off spec, but the Secondary Resistance was spot on.

Turns out it was a security issue with the key sensor. Started fiddling around with the key and noticed a really small rubber button on the key right next to where the key goes in to the plastic part. I pushed it in a couple of times. Cranked right up. Also, there’s no engine code, plugged it into an obd2 reader and no codes came up. You might have knocked off a vacuum line, or maybe the intake hose was cracked and it finally gave way. Look for stuff like that and report back.
