I am trying to fix a friends 1986 350 honda 4×4. It has a strange starting problem and i would appreciate your expertise!!! If you let this thing sit overnight it does not want to start. The fuel pump will not kick on and it has no spark.

Why did my Honda 350 4×4 have sludge in it?
Because this is a 1986 and the gas tank had sludge in it when I bought it 8 years ago, I cleaned the tank as best as I could back then and installed inline filters between tank and fuel pump as well as between fuel pump and carb. The carb was replaced a year ago.
