How does dirt get into the gas tank?
Off-roading often leaves dirt on the truck, which falls into the gas inlet when you fuel the tank. Or dirt gets into your spare fuel system and eventually finds its way into your tank. Even through common usage, it is possible to see sediments collecting in your tank.
How to make a carburetor test temporary fuel tank?
Just check with the “gas stations” south of the border. Those people use soda bottles to store their fuel and they reuse the same bottle for years. Or cheap skate method, use an oil funnel with a thin enough end to shove into the carbs fuel line or an oil funnel with a vinyl hose. They also make ones with a closeable top. What happens if you have old gas in your tank?
Gas that is older than a year can cause issues, like engine knocking, sputtering and clogged injectors. Bad gas can be drained from the tank to prevent damage to the engine. One caveat to keep in mind is that there is no way of knowing how old the gas is when you first pump it into the car. What can you do to protect the car if you store it?
Why is the CARB float bowl empty after sitting?
So it takes quite a bit of cranking (about 15-20 cranks) for the mechanical fuel pump to pull fuel all the way from the tank and fill the bowl. After the truck starts, i can shut it off and it will fire right back up all day long, hot or cold, makes no difference, because there is now fuel in the bowl.

What does starting fluid on a carb look like?
Starting fluid induced into the intake/carb throttle body, would not cause an issue internally of the carb’s fuel chambers. What I see in the pic, looks like fuel phasing, which is a side effect of ethanol fuel. I’m not buying the “its ethanol” thing.
