How do you give adequan injections to cats?
Adequan is administered as a subcutaneous (under the skin) injection twice weekly for 4 weeks. If the response is positive then the frequency is reduced to as little as once a month.
Where do they inject shots on cats?
The injections are given in the subcutaneous tissue (sub = under, cutaneous = skin), which is considerably looser in the cat than in the human. Start by pinching some loose skin along the back of your cat between your thumb and forefinger.

You will not cause any problems if a few bubbles of air are injected under the skin. If quite a bit of air gets under the skin, you may feel a crackling sound when you push on the skin, and your cat may experience mild discomfort for a couple of hours, but no real harm or damage will occur.
