What kind of oil does a Nissan Frontier use?
I highly reccomend Amsoil Manual trans gear oil 75w90 GL4. Works great in my 04. The engine does use a timing chain ,and it is a mantinence free design. If you dont use Amsoil make sure you use only a GL4 75w90 or Nissans own 75W85 fluid.
Where can I get AMSOIL fluid for Nissan Frontier?
If its not Nissan fluid or Amsoil, Redline MT90 would be my other choice.I really dont think any fluid avalible at Pepboys, Autozone, or Advance is a decent choice. I’ll use thread sealant. I’ll also try to replace the PCV valve and fuel filter. What about brake fluid? Should I flush the brake system?

Where is the transmission head on a Nissan Frontier?
Should be a dipstick passenger side middle of engine, it will have a bolt to be removed first. Assuming the transmission is an automatic, the bolt head is 10MM. Make sure the vehicle is warmed up, engine running (with transmission in “PARK”) and parked on a level surface.
