How do you change the controls on a John Deere excavator?
CHANGING THE CONTROL PATTERN
- Locate the pattern control changer underneath the seat.
- Unlock the box with the key.
- Unscrew the bolt holding the lever in place.
- Turn the lever to change the pattern.
- Replace the bolt to keep the lever in position and keep it from vibrating during operation.
- Re-lock the box.
What are H pattern controls?
H-pattern controls are an option for fleet owners with operators who prefer hand controls. Left and right steering levers have handles that pivot right and left for easy operation and less operator fatigue. The left handle controls the lift arms. Operators move it left to raise the lift arms and right to lower them.

There is a procedure to switch it, but I don’t remember exactly what it is. ISO/SAE pattern changer is under the fuel tank/hydraulic tank access cover on the left side, at the back of the compartment, a rotary multi-control valve. Anyone know if and where you can change the pattern controls on a 1998 Bobcat 325 excavators?
Where is the changer on a cat 312el?
Cat 312EL, under the floor mat. There’s a metal plate that lifts out and the changer is underneath. Case CX210B and C Behind the cab access door on the left side there is a cover like a floor plate with 2 wing bolts. Remove the bolts and cover and there it is.

Lever turns from SAE to ISO. I started out on deere controls then learned cat. I tried to run deere one day and couldn’t do it now!
Where is the 321dl on a bobcat mini?
My 321DL is accessed through a small door under the cab, the 321CL’s is under the floor mat. 315CL is in the side door on the operators side, same with the 325DL. On some Bobcat mini’s it’s located directly below the right hand joystick.
