Installed it on 1995 Softail Springer 5 days ago….works great and the price was right. The carb kit was shipped promptly with all the parts needed to replace stock carb and manifold, comprehensive instructions included in the box. All parts and hardware were in original packaging (unopened), which was very important to me.
Can a Super E Shorty be used as an app?
Super E shorty good choice for your app. very easy to tune and maintain, quality carb, you will be happy. really no down side with these carbs unless you get in to head and big cam work then you would need to send out the carb to add a third circuit that would give you the ability to refine the tune ,but for your app. plug and play and enjoy.
Do you need to replace the CARB on a Harley Davidson Evo?
The line from the manifold to the gas tank vacuum petcock should have been plugged if you replaced that petcock with a manual one. If plugged correctly, there will be no affect on the VOES operation. So, you do not NEED to replace the Keihin CV40 carb on your EVO unless you want to.

Why are S & S Shorty carbs air bleed # 13?
Since 2004 S&S shorty carbs have been fitted with an adjustable main jet air bleed (#13). Changing this jet to a larger size will delay the signal to the main jet, therefore aiding with high speed tuning as described in step 8. This also aides with tuning an engine that is fitted with an exhaust system that is not intended for high performance.
What kind of CARB does a Harley Davidson Super G have?
The Super G has a 21⁄16″ (52.3mm) bore and 13⁄4″ (44.5mm) venturi. It is identified by a “G” cast into the carb body. The Super G is recommended for use on modified engines of 74 cubic inches or more. While both carburetors can be made to work on most engines, the Super G is not recommended for small, low compression engines.
