Regarding the cable remove the nut and clean up the connections and refit nice and tight. If as winco suspects in his answer above you do have injectors leaking back too much fuel then the pump is having trouble maintaining the required fuel pressure and causing the lamp to flash. A leak off test at a garage will be able to confirm this though.
