Can you solder alternator wires?
The answer is none, the factory uses crimps because they hold up in automotive environments. Every last solder “fix” i’ve done to my wiring harness when I was less wise has broken at the edge of where the soldered part and the unsoldered part of the wire meet.
Where are the pins on an alternator pigtail?
Its all crumbled to just the pins connected to the wires. there are three pins. brown – to the terminal that is to the front of the car, farthest from engine. Do I have the orientation right? I am very sure that the yellow is the middle terminal, just not sure of the outer wires.

Can you plug in an alternator with a zip tie?
Unless itpluge directly into the alternator that should work. I have done that several time on various things. Then to seperate it just snip the zip tie. Use a contrasting color zip tie so you notice it if you don’t unhook it often enough to remember what you did. Click to expand… Yea, it plugs directy into the alternator.
Why is the connector on my alternator not working?
I have to double check, but I think it was a connector to my alternator. The connector still slides on, it just doesn’t click and lock in anymore. It might be ok, but then again it might slowly slide off over time, dunno.
Where is the wiring harness on an alternator?
