Can a Nissan Micra throttle body fail Mot?

The unit will have to be professionally stripped & rebuilt or replaced. Common symptoms of a failed throttle body on a Nissan Micra (both K11 & K12) are: Because the throttle body (air mass meter) is directly associated with the air intake system, it can throw out the air/fuel ratio which could potentially fail the MOT on an emissions test.

Where is the throttle position sensor on a Micra?

If not, apply the same treatment to the throttle position sensor (TPS) which is to the left of the MAF looking at the drivers of the throttle body (RH drive car). I have fixed this problem on 5 micras from 51 to 03 reg (K11 model) on both 1Ltr & 1.4 Ltr engines.

What kind of engine does a Nissan Micra have?

I have a 2001 Nissan Micra K11 1.0. I’ve been experiencing really poor engine performance recently. It would start easy enough and idle OK, either cold or hot, but would not rev when I pressed the throttle, and was virtually impossible to drive as there was just no power. I tried replacing the fuel pump, but that made no difference.

Why does my Micra K11 have no power?

I took out the MAF, and found that if I reconnected it when it was away from the air flow through the throttle body the engine response was fine, but I got the old symptoms of no power or revs as soon as I fed it back into the throttle body.

How do you remove the throttle from a Micra K12?

It’s a bit tight so just pull the throttle body towards you whilst wiggling it slightly as the rubber seal is a little tight. Don’t put too much force as you might snap the plastic top housing. You should now see the housing like this once the throttle body has been removed.
