Can a fuel tank be attached to a fuel rail?
The stock fuel rail already has the fuel pressure regulator on it, so basically all you need to do is attach hoses from the tank to the fuel rail and install a fuel pump and filter in the supply hose. I opted for mounting the pump outside of the fuel tank mostly because I am lazy and it is much easier.
How does the fuel pressure control system work?
A single fuel line exits the tank and travels to the engine. Pressure is controlled by a computer, which monitors a series of engine sensors to determine how much fuel to deliver. To regulate the fuel pressure, the ECU simply adjusts the pump speed or fuel injector rate.
What kind of hose do I need for fast fuel pump?
Plumbing the in-line fuel pump was a snap with the EZ-EFI fuel pump and hose kit. The kit includes all connections, so there’s no need for multiple trips to the parts store. The FAST EndureX hose and push-on fittings supplied in the EZ-EFI kits are easy to work with in fabricating the fuel lines.
How is the fuel pump connected to the relay?
From the relay a wire with connector goes to the main EZ-EFI wiring harness with a ground wire at the connector. You simply hook up the two connectors to their intended locations and attach the ground wire. Plumbing the in-line fuel pump was a snap with the EZ-EFI fuel pump and hose kit.
Can a fuel pump be connected to a sending unit?
Fuel pump & Sending unit installation. The fuel pumps we linked to earlier in this article are direct fit into the sending units. The complete install of the fuel pump, sending unit and hard line to AN adapters will allow you to hook up the PTFE hose kit that you choose for your relevant install.
What kind of fittings do you use for a fuel system?
The Auto-Crimp fittings are really easy to put together, and combined with the nylon braided Pro-Lite 350 hose, are a great way to save a decent bit of weight.
What kind of hose do you need for a fuel system?
This can be done by removing screw in hose tails and replacing with a male / male adaptor or by changing to weld on threaded adapters. There are also adapters that will fit a push on hose tail and convert to a threaded fitting. The hose can have black nylon or stainless-steel over-braid.
Where are the feed and return lines on a fuel tank?
One common mistake with the install of this regulator is mixing up the feed and return lines from the tank. As shown in the diagram the 5/16″ center port is the return while the 3/8″ port on the perimeter or outside edge of the corvette style regulator is the Feed. The feed is generally marked by an arrow or a Flow marking.
Can a push on hose be used to renew fuel lines?
Push on hose is a very cost-effective solution when looking to renew your fuel lines, although it is not recommended for use inside the car. Whilst it will not leak, it will allow vapour and fumes to escape. This will make the cockpit a very unpleasant place to be.
What kind of fittings do I need for fuel system?
The fittings clamp to the hose with a compression olive to make a very strong connection. As with the above hose, the fittings are threaded so the car may require changing to suit. The alloy fittings to suit are available in red / blue or black, while steel fittings have a plated finish.
What kind of tubing is used for fuel lines?
Fuel Lines, Hoses, and Fittings • Steel lines made of seamless tubing run the length of the frame – Transport fuel from tank to engine • Hoses used for flexible connections 7.
