Several people with 2015 Outbacks have reported a problem with dead batteries if the car is not driven very frequently. I have jumped mine 3 times and the battery tests OK at the dealer. So, do any 2016 owners have the same problem?

Which is the correct battery size for an outback?
Group 35 polarity is reversed backwards from the OE Group 25. Best to stick with Group 25 (OE battery size), Group 24 (not 24F!), or Group 34 (not 34R!). All three of these are “drop-in” replacements that will fit the OE battery tray, but the original insulating sleeve will only fit a Group 25.
