What’s the best way to get a license?
Put your study plan into a calendar and set milestones so you stick to it. Have NBCOT send your exam score directly to the state regulatory agency where you want to apply for a license. All state licensure boards require the examination score prior to issuing a license. Decide as early as possible in which state (s) you want to apply for a license.
