Install the 351W intake and exhaust valves, clean up the casting flash and smooth the radius in the intake ports. Enlarge the exhaust ports. The 302 heads will make good power as well once modified but again, check costs vs aftermarket from a cost standpoint.

The 351W heads will bolt right on. You use the 302 intake. There are some things that you will have to address, though. The 351w heads use 1/2″ head bolts vs the 302 which uses slightly smaller 7/16″ bolts. ARP sells special reducing washers to fill the gap and to keep the bolts in line.

The blocks are the same . You need 351 crank and rods to convert. If you want a really free revving 351, use the 351 crank, but use the 302 rods, as they are longer. In order to do this you however need a special piston for this with a higher pin height.
