Why is my VW Jetta horn not working?

Why is my VW Jetta horn not working?

Recently the horn chirp when locking doors stopped sounding and then the horn stopped working all together when pressed on steering column. No warning lights on the display are lit. It seems ironic that the recall in 2011 was dealing with what seems to be the same circuit problems that would cause the car to stall when the horn was pressed.

Is there any way to disable the horn while connecting the battery, then starting the car, then enabling the horn again? Or, is there a way to stop the horn immediately after connecting?

“….On Mk4 fuse #40 supplies the horn relay with 12V via relay panel connector S1-4 on a Red/ Brown wire. When the relay operates, the power comes out of the relay panel on a black/Yellow wire at S2-2. This wire goes to the horns on pin 2 of the horn connector. Pin 1 of the horn connector is spliced to a ground wire in the headlight harness.”

What’s the problem with my 2011 VW Jetta?

No one has added a helpful site for this 2011 Jetta problem yet.

Are there any electrical problems with a VW Jetta?

People are always saying “I hear VW has tons of electrical problems”. Well, I don’t really agree with that, but I will save how I really feel for another post. This is about a REAL problem I found on a Jetta. The customer comes in and says “Sometimes my door buttons do not work”.
