B200 2006, Sports pack. The sideview power folding mirror on my driver has stopped folding. It came stuck in the open position a while back but while tinkering with it a few days back it started folding when the vehicle doors were locked remotely, though it would fold only 80-85% of the way.

Also would like to inform everybody that the powered folding side mirrors can be folded and opened manually. That is really helpful if you need to go to the car wash and the mirrors won’t fold electrically (as in my case). I guess this should be the case for all MB’s with powered folding side mirrors.

I’ve never taken the mirror apart and most (if not all) of the Canadian members with B’s do not have power folding mirrors nor do we have it folding in any manual way either. We can bash it out of it’s resting position but our mirrors on this side of the pond are mainly non movable. WD40 will be fine to loosen it up if it needs that.

The mirror controls are not individually fused, but the unit ( N69/1 left door control module) that drives the left mirror motors is fused by f13 (25A). N69/1 also controls the left power window motors etc, so if those are working OK the fuse is good.

May have been the result of condensation though. To test it remove the switch and measure the resistance across pins 2 and 5 – should be around 900 ohms. Press the fold In switch and it should be around 160 ohms. Press the fold Out switch and it should be around 0 ohms.
