Why is my Nissan Pathfinder making a weird noise?
A forum for the legendary Nissan Pathfinder and Infiniti QX4. turns out weird noise isnt the wheel bearing… I brought the q to the local canadian tire, they took it for a test drive, put it up on the hoist, stethoscope…and they cannot determine where the noise is coming from.
Why does my Pathfinder vibrate at 40 mph?
I have a 2000 pathfinder 63000 mi., the front of the car and steering wheel vibrate around 40 mph, new front tires, tie rod ends, and links. I am thinking that the front wheel bearings should be replaces, does anyone have any answers??

Anyone have this problem with their 06 Pathfinder: With all windows up…roll down the rear windows and the pressure inside the Pathfinder becomes very loud and almost sonic to the ears very bothersome. Does Nissan offer any cure for this? Anyone notice the sound that the Pathfinder (this case is a 2006) when the limited slip kicks in?

The tubing was touching another metal piece causing a vibration and the whining noise. Once they bracketed the tubing away from any parts under the hood the whining noise went away COMPLETELY. It is a shame that Nissan is not taking responsibility for this issue.

So far we established that the humming noise is only prevalent once 4WD is engaged and not while driving in 2H. This is due to the fact that 2H mode only rotates the rear driveshaft or prop-shaft as some call it and does not engage the front driveshaft, differential and transfer case at all. What should I do if I hear a weird noise in my car?
Get a buddy to drive the car slowly past you. That should make it easy to confirm what corner it’s coming from. Then put a chalk mark on thetire and confirm that it’s happening every half turn. Note where the chalk markis, jack it up and eyeball things. Now swap that tire to a different corner andsee if the sound moves.
