Why is my Honda Civic making a lot of noise?
A lot of vibration noise inside the car from the front engine mount. The engine is also leaking oil in two places. We had a mechanic do some work on our 2002 Honda Civic LX 4 door automatic transmission that included replacing the driver’s side engine mount (motor mount). Afterward the car vibration was terrible.
What to do if your Honda Civic is shaking?
Let it sit for a few hours until the motor is cool to the touch. Remove the oil dipstick, and check for an appropriate fluid level. Then, check the the coolant reservoir for color, quality, and the appropriate level of the coolant. Top off or replace the engine oil or coolant as needed. Figure 1. I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A TUNE UP AND HONDA SAID NO ITS THE ENGINE MOUNTS SO IF THEY KNOW THE PROBLEM OVER THE PHONE IT MUST BE AN ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. I HAVE TAKEN GREAT CARE OF THIS CAR AND WHEN I BOUGHT IT WAS TOLD IT WILL LAST FOREVER.

Car Axle should be the reason which the vibration comes from. Oftentimes it seems like the engine shaking problem is rooted in the engine itself, whereas in reality, it is the axles that need to be taken care of. When your car is in a collision, the axles can be damaged, even when there is no apparent sign of damage.

Why does my Honda Civic run rough at idle?
Low oil levels would cause the idle roughness, and low coolant levels would cause the engine to run hot as well as rough. To check if the fluid levels are low, let the car sit until the engine is cold. Let it sit for a few hours until the motor is cool to the touch.
