Your test of moving your ECU to a “good” Rzr and having the problem persist would indicate that your ECU is damaged alright. My 570 was showing identical problems (fuel pump would intermittently not run when turning the key on and would stop randomly killing the engine).

Get your self a schematic diagram of your RZR. On the RZR800 the RD/BL wire goes from pin 3 at fuel pump CONECTOR to terminal A4 on the RELAY/FUSE BLOCK.It does NOT go to the ECU. Get your self a schematic diagram of your RZR.

One of them had slipped back into the boot, and I only connected the other one. This is why the ATV had no power at all when I was turning the key. Once I noticed this, I hooked up both positive cables to the terminal and everything works fine now.

The kill switch is in run, turn the key on and most of the time nothing happens (Like a dead battery). This all started with having random loss of power (meaning with the ignition on and kill switch in run, the fuel pump would kick on and speedo would light up then sundenly it would all shut off, Then kick back on, then off.

The reps at the 800 customer service bascially said NOT MYPROBLEM and YOU DON’T HAVE ANY WHERE ELSE TO GO FOR HELP. I AM NOT A HAPPY camper and will continue to try and find someone at Polaris who cares. Polaris doesn’t know anything about all these problems with the electrial system occording to their reps.
Where are the electrical wires on a Polaris ATV?
I had actually hooked on of them to the neg side. Up front next to the computer are 2 black wires that are coming from the left side of the battery opening with a terminal connecting the 2 together and it has a red shrink wrap on the terminal make sure that you put it on the pos side.

Click to expand… He was probably using a meter to check continuity and assumed it went to the ECU. I am betting he was seeing resistance through the coil of the relay.

Can a 900XP ECU work on a Polaris 800?
A 900xp ECU will not work on an 800. Also if the RZR you swapped your ECU into isn’t the same year and model, it potentially would not have worked right either. Before you assume the ECU is bad, check the 30 amp fuse under the driver side seat.
