Why is my AC not working on my 2017 Honda CRV?
2017 1.5T and air conditioning no longer working. Seems the compressor is not engaging. I checked the AC related fuses and all look good. I’m seeing a lot of videos/posts on checking the relays, however my fuse box is not well labeled for the relays (see attached images) as I am seeing on other CRV generations and Honda models.
Where is the AC sensor on a Honda CRV?
The sensor is mounted on a metal tube ( AC high pressure line) that runs up from the compressor just to the left side of the fan blade. If the wires are broke you can splice a new connector to the wires. Luckily there is a supply of cheap pigtails (connector with wires) available.
How do you remove an old refrigerant compressor?
Remove the old compressor. Use a 3/8-inch socket to remove the back bolt that attaches the suction and discharge hoses to the compressor. Inspect the aluminum flange that is part of the hose assembly for the old refrigerant seal and remove it if it is stuck there. Unplug the wire connector that operates the compressor clutch.
How do you replace an air conditioner compressor?
Replace the compressor by positioning it into the mount and securing the mount bolts and nuts clockwise. Reattach the wiring harness terminal and freon lines (check the nut gaskets for damage). Wrap the primary drive belt over the compressor pulley wheel, grooves down. Press the tension pulley arm and slide the belt back underneath the idle pulley.
